Shayan Manzar is an Associate in our mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and securities practice.

Shayan is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School, where he completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business & Finance Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws Honors (BA, LL.B. Honors) degree from the Lahore University of Management Sciences, in Pakistan.

Prior to joining Schwartz LLC, Shayan worked at the World Bank Group’s Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) as a Legal Consultant, where he provided legal counsel to MIGA’s Legal Affairs and Claims Group on guarantee transactions, relating to political risk insurance and credit enhancement to support foreign direct investment in developing countries.

Before pursuing his U.S. law degree, Shayan worked at one of Pakistan’s leading full-service law firms, where he advised several  on public and private sector clients, governments, regulatory bodies, and international organizations including the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, capital markets, corporate governance, compliance, policy and legislative advisory matters.

Shayan is experienced in drafting, reviewing and negotiating, memoranda, term sheets, asset and stock purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements, intercreditor agreements, license agreements, solicitation agent agreements, credit agreements, underwriting agreements, loan agreements, security and pledge agreements, guaranties, trust fund administration agreements, non-disclosure agreements, confidentiality agreements.

Shayan’s past pro-bono work has included providing legal assistance to various not-for-profit companies and charitable funds.

Shayan speaks English (native), Urdu (native) and Hindi (conversational).
