Jane Tomno is a Law Clerk in our corporate, investment funds and securities practice.

Jane is a graduate of Duke University School of Law, where she earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on corporate and commercial law, finance transactions, M&A, project finance, and energy law, along with a Business Law Certificate, and where she received an Outstanding Service Award. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the University of Nairobi in Kenya.

Prior to joining Schwartz LLC, Jane served as a Research Assistant on the Open AI Policy project at Duke, where she contributed to mapping AI regulations and researching policy recommendations across the Global North and Global South. Earlier, Jane served as Legal Counsel at Solarise Africa Group, a pan-African renewable energy financing company, where she acted as lead counsel on financing transactions and project agreements across several African jurisdictions. Earlier in her career, Jane was an Associate at Anjarwalla & Khanna LLP, a leading Kenyan corporate law firm, where she advised on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, legal due diligence, and regulatory compliance matters for clients including commercial banks and multinational corporations.

Jane is fluent in English and Swahili. She is admitted to practice law in Kenya.
