Temitope Akande is an associate in our corporate and investment funds practice.

Temitope is a graduate of University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, where she completed her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Dispute Resolution and Business Organization. She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at Obafemi Awolowo University and attended Nigerian Law School.

Temitope was an associate at various law firms in Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria, where her responsibilities included drafting legal agreements and memoranda, representing clients in litigation across various court levels, and facilitating and advising on commercial transactions between Nigerian financial entities, before undertaking her U.S. law degree. Temitope continues to be associated with Slingstone LP, a law firm in Lagos, Nigeria.

Prior to joining Schwartz LLC, Temitope interned at various law firms in the United States and at the International Institute of Conflict Prevention and Resolution, New York where she conducted legal research and published article(s) on alternative dispute resolution. She also served as a mediator/conflict resolution specialist at Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center, in Los Angeles. She has experience in a variety of legal fields, including commercial transactions, corporate law, e-discovery, personal injury, medical negligence, immigration law, and dispute resolution.

Temitope is fluent in English, native in Yoruba, and conversational in French (DELF A2). She is admitted to practice in New York and Nigeria.
